a family well fed

My life is filled with the unexpected, the unplanned, and sometimes even the unbelievable.

One day I was lying on my living room floor while chaos played around me (that would be my youngest 2 boys as toddlers).  I just happened to look up at the corner of the ceiling, and noticed what looked to be a footprint.

It just didn’t register though - I mean - HOW does one get a footprint on the CEILING?

Upon closer examination, with the help of a kitchen stool, I discovered that it was indeed a footprint.  As there really was only one child at that time that was capable of such a task I sought the culprit.

 His response?

Oh yeah.  Sorry about that.  I meant to clean it off.

No big deal.  Just another smudge, ya’ know?

But more importantly, I  wanted to to know HOW it got there.

“Oh.  That’s easy.  I just climbed up the walls...want me to show you?”

That my friends, sums up my life.  What others only mention in jest is reality in my house.  My kids quite literally climb the walls.

Whether we’re navigating a move or deployment with only 2 weeks notice or just trying to get dinner on the table, life for our family is always filled with the unexpected.
